Neglected flood banks can be a serious risk during high water levels. To avoid flooding
of the surrounding area, special screens made of ultra-tight materials are used
in the existing embankments. Sealing is made of natural materials and is ecologically harmless. The screens are installed with the use of the Deep Soil Mixing technology where the overlapping DSM columns create a tight wall. Another method is VIPs, where a narrow slot is filled with a sealing material to ensure flood bank tightness. In both cases,
a watertight screen is created in the main body of the flood bank.
